Sierra Madre is known as the backbone of Luzon. It is considered as the longest mountain range in the Philippines.
Sierra Madre is habitat to several endangered biodiversity species, including the Philippine Eagle, and serves as a natural barrier against typhoons and storm surges.
Sierra Madre is undergoing an unprecedented period of human-induced environmental change. The possibility of losing a large portion of the region's biodiversity has sparked growing global and local worries.
That is why we have created this post to raise awareness about the current situation of our very own Sierra Madre.
